Although tools are not mentioned under the recommended supplies list for Design I & II, I found that tools were very helpful in making most of my sculptures.
True Value is a very reliable place to buy hardware and tools.
The tools that I found most helpful were...
Box-cutter
Hammer & Nails
Needle-Nose Pliers
Also, epoxy and glue are very important for this class...for holding together sculptures and mixed media to your 2D works, as well!
The glue that was the most reliable, for me, was Epoxy 3000 (found at WalMart).
I also found rubber cement very helpful for gluing paper to other paper/canvas.
